Forbes has a nice timeline of GoPro’s last 10 years, from it’s humble beginnings hawking 35mm cameras in VW bus to it’s multibillion dollar present.

The Moral of the Story: If you’re building a gadget that isn’t a smartphone or smartphone accessory (say, a watch), seek out the few blind spots where smartphones can’t go. The fastest growing US camera company makes cameras for moments where people would never dare use their smartphone.
