Don’t be afraid. I have everything under control. I’m just playing a little around with the latest SVN version of the K2 Theme for WordPress. Altough K2 is already one of the best available themes for WP it is just getting better and better. The latest version already support wordpress widgets. That’s absolutely awesome. You can now easily edit the content of the sidebar by easy drag & drop and extend the sidebar via plugins. A huge step forwards in terms of usability and simplicity. I have to create a new style sheet scheme and my litte relaunch is ready.

Btw. My Iran ISP is blocking flickr! 🙁 But that’s not the reason why you won’t see any pictures under ‘Photos’.

Some funny advertisement videos

Got this link from Malte. Un-Pimp My Ride (VW Advertisement). Should be really funny. Unfortunately i’m sitting in the hotel only left with an analog dial connection that is uncredible slow.

I will give a try tomorrow when we are back in the office. The internet access in the office ins’t really realiable, but a lot faster than this crappy 40,1kBit/s dial-in connection.

I just checked my wordpress admin panel. The following sentence captured my attention: “Akismet has caught 1,367 spam for you since you installed it.”
It’s nearly the same with email. On average i’m recieving 10 spam emails daily.

Layout refresh – as soon as the new K2 Theme will be released

I just stumbled upon Khoi Vinhâ€™s Web Site. Awesome design – just black & white and a very clear screen design. I’m just waiting for the next release of K2 and then i will do a little overhaul to my stylesheet. “Less is more” is now may new design role.

Ok. Just a quick interesting fact before you go to sleep. Ask yourself. Are you willing to spend $ 400 USD upfront for a ordinary Postpaid SIM-Card? No included minutes, no Voice Mailbox, no MMS, no GPRS, simple nothing included…just SMS as Value added service. And the best thing is, if you come the decision to buy a card, are you willing to wait more then 6-months for your SIM-card?

Yes or No? That not a question in Iran. Just 8 Mio. customers have registered as new applicants for a SIM-Card. That’s a nice income for the ~~mobile operator~~ government.

“…the government obliged the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology to compensate for part of its budget deficit by registering new applications for mobile phone SIM cards.” Source. That’s the Iranian solution to reduce the public budget deficit.

I’m still alive

It’s definitely time to post something. I’m still alive. The last posts is several weeks old – or should i say months. I was a little bit lazy to post regular updates to the Site. It’s always a question of self-motivation. After working the whole day on client stuff, i’m most often not in the mood to write a novel.

Ok, to keep it short. I’m back in Teheran again for the last phase of the project. As always on a project, the last week will be very demanding. Finishing and polishing all the stuff. Prepare the presentations & reports for the final meeting. Incorporate the latest customer feedback.
