My favorite podcast. Guy Raz is interviewing Founders who made it and get them to tell their stories ‘How they built this’. A couple of commonalities emerge from listening to different Founders:
Nothing of this is new but more like common wisdom, however, its still interesting to identify a set of patterns by listening to the stories of successful Founders.

>20 years ago I was running my BBS named Outland. This was my NFO file. BBS was running on Proboard (OS was MS Dos) on a 386 40MHZ and 102 MB hard drive (can’t remember the RAM size, believe it was 512kb or 2MB, which is a big difference). The modem was a 14.4kbit/s first till I upgraded to a 28.8kbit/s. The data center was my room and the rack housing the PC was a big cardboard under my desk.
The BBS time and the early years of the Internet were for me the most exciting time. Blast of fun on IRC and in the night playing Quake & Team Fortress with the friends.
