I’m pretty impressed what possible nowadays with browser based online services like Google Docs or Sliderocket.
Just two weeks ago, I thought that Google Docs is only a simple online version of “Notepad”, that isn’t appropriate to seriously create and manage documents. After playing around with it and testing it on a daily base, i have to admit, that i changed my mind. Google Docs is a formidable competitor to the Microsoft Office Suite. For the majority of the people, who are using just max. 5% of the features of Microsoft Word or Powerpiont, those web-based services are becoming a real alternative – and they are available for free.

Du wirst überrascht sein, wie gut Google Docs auf nem iPhone/iPod Touch funktioniert.
Otto Normalverbaucher braucht definitiv kein MS Office mehr. Die Dokumente unter Google Docs sind sicher online gespeichert. Egal ob der Rechner mal wieder abstürzt oder nicht. Tja und damit stellt sich dann auch die Frage: Wer braucht eignetlich noch Windows? (Abgesehen von Daddelkindern natürlich. Die brauchen weiter Windows. Oder zumindest ne XBOX oder PS3 oder so.) Da reicht doch dann ein eeepc mit Ubuntu für alle Dinge aus, die der Otto Normalverbraucher nutzt… Bin mal gespannt, wann sich Google Docs in der breiten Masse durchsetzt. Für meine privaten Dokumente nutze ich persönlich es schon intensiv.
